TV Amplifiers

hi all, i have a freewiew lcd tv which i bought after reading advice in here. i find that the freeview stations work no too bad up in my area, get the most of them pretty clear, only a couple have the blocks appearing on the screen.

however, some folks say that if you buy an amplifier (one of those around twenty quid) that will sort out the problems, is this an easy remedy if you are in a good signal area like me, or should i just leave it as it is.

cheers.

sorry james, standard caravan set up, no additional ariels etc.

sproket, i hivny a clue. will need to look tomorrow, all i know is its a status fitted to a 2001 abbey aventura.

seems to work no too bad, but we get pretty good signal in my area.

what i mean is if i go to some place with weaker signal would this amplifier be of any use ?.

My van had the 315 on and it was not working properly, so i invested in the Status 530 directional i fitted it quite easily, and the picture quality on digital is excellent,if it's pooring down i just stand in the van with a compass and move it round to the direction of the mast which i get from this web site Transmitter finder for finding the direction of the mast, or i put the dish up, like this i can rotate the dish easily.

choice is yours 😱)

Highlander,

Yor status aerial already uses an amplifier.

If I remember correctly I tried an additional amplifier as you suggest and it didn't work at all.

thanks for the links giving the techy stuff, but thats way beyond me, im only wanting to know if an amplifier would be an improvement on my original set up.

The 315 is ok if your near to the mast, check all your connections are ok, the little amplifier box does the led light up when you turn it on ?????? it looks like this ?
