Hi Erica we have 19" Flat Screen in the Caravan we got 2 years ago from Tesco, it has built in Freeview and DVD/CD Player cannot remember the price and can let you know the make later if you are interested. What I woud advise you to do when you go to shop for it is, listen to its sound, before buying. We bought the one before this from Argos, did not listen to it and oh it had such a tinny sound, nothing worse is there. I am not putting Argos down, they sell very good products at good prices but you cannot try them in the shop. At Tesco they plugged the tv in and we coud listen to it. Have not tried the Freeview as we always use Sky box and Dish.
Whichever you go for, before buying do one test. Look at the picture from centrally but above and (especially) below the horizontal centre line. Many TVs - and particularly the cheaper ones - go very dark when viewed from below. The easiest way to check is to tilt the TV backwards away from you and see how far it goes before the picture disappears. Also most modern small TVs have a fixed stand - just the odd one will allow tilt adjustment.
You may think that you will be viewing from about the right height, but if you then lie down the picture becomes unwatchable. We have a Sharp (particular model no longer available) which can be almost laid on its back and the picture is still visible.
I suspect a LED lit TV may not suffer the problem so badly but I have not had the opportunity to check.
Lastly, if you can buy from John Lewis as with most of their TVs you get a free five-year guarantee.

We also have the Tesco led TV dvd player and built in freeview bought for £109.00 two years ago, great for the caravan, unfortunately this newer model has a built in transformer which means 240 volt only, I also bought the wall mount for it £4.99 and made up a simple wooden bracket so the tv can either be placed on a table or under-hung from one of the wall lockers at the other end of the caravan at the bottom of the bed.
However I also have a notebook/laptop which can work off 12v and a digital receiver for freeview which was bought of ebay for £13.00, that's another option.

Thank your for all yr replies. We do have one at the moment bought from Argos some 2yrs back, trouble is the voices dont go in time some 3 or 4 seconds after they say it on screen, most annoying believe me. I,m not watching that again this season so we are going to buy another one. Looking to pay upto £150. or just over but want a good one. May try Tesco like advised in Argos u cant try until u unwrap it at home. It didn,t use to do this when we first bought it or I,d have taken it back straight away.

have you tried retuning your current TV. The sound and vision can go out of sync on digital. I had this on a Freeview box but retuning brought picture and sound in sync.

19" dvd, HD(well 720p- i use a HDFreesat ), SdFreeview, USB,SD and PC l mounted it the side of the wardrobe ( swift 565) on a natty little mount that uses a dovetail. It just slides out so tv is on seat when travelling .
Make is Lexon , from ebay, viewing angles are very good.£120. inc postage.
It is only 240v but last year we had a weekend without hook up, and it was great without the TV. The kids played outside and did not miss the telly one bit (4yrs and 10yrs old).

Of all the TVs I've had over the years, only my 15 year old Grundig ever broke, so personally, I would save the £60 or so and buy elsewhere.
Not knocking JL, they still have a good price but it grates when I read their adverts with the 'free' guarantee.

So not impressed with this company one little bit.
I bought one anyway, as i already have two humax 9200's. And i got a 2 year guarantee.

Bought an Avtex TV/DVD from the Golden Castle show in October the DVD froze a couple of times over Xmas on new DVDs called them on Friday they collected it Monday,fitted new DVD mechanismTuesday and it was returned today so very pleased,TV from Currys was with them for six weeks cos 'waiting for parts'
i am looking for a small flat screen with dvd and freeview, under 16inches, i like the tv for rainy days in the van but dont want it to take over the van as our current 25 inch one seems to, and it has to be cheep! i like spending on drink and BBQ's instead! even second had would be fine?

I have found John Lewis's customer service second to none and found that a 5 year guarantee on a tv for be well in excess of the extra that John Lewis charge for the product
Yes you can buy cheaper on the internet but you need check your guarantee as some are return to base at your expence,the one i had with Toshiba was, as i had to take to a repair cente myself and pick it up after 14 days.
John Lewis turned up next day and after 5 days a brand new better one arrived not bad with only a year left

When I sort out the tv we are considering buying another satilite system as well had one a few years ago but really never used it last yr, now we are thinking of a satalite dish etc. I can buy a new box and satalite dish for abt £100 but now have read abt free - sat and I,m wondering abt that. Satalite or Free-sat. You good folk out there can help me with that as well as tv. Erica.
