TV reception on Isle of Wight

I wondered if anyone could tell me how good (or bad) is TV reception at the Adgestone C & CC site on the Isle of Wight?

Regards,

Paul

Paul, Adgestone is located at the base of a rather high hill run, or "The Downs" as they are known, and consequently are not in direct line of sight of the main transmitter.

However, you can aim for the mainland trnasmitter and get their signal too, may be a bit wobbly.

Best reception is by satellite dish.

We stayed at Nodes Point - very near to Bembridge (on the eastern tip of the island).

The reception was fine - ok, there was no channel 5, and there was ghosting on some of the programmes, but we watched TV most evenings/mornings without a problem.

Go for it.

We go to the island every year and have never had a problem with tv reception from the roof mounted status, however we do now use a satelight system on most sites as it is so easy to set up once you grasp it.

Going over to the island in six weeks for a fortnight, staying close to cowes.

You should be OK for the Rowridge transmitter on the Island. it should be almost due west of the Adgestone site. You would be unlikely to pick up the mainland transmitter as the site is south of the downs. Reception is generally good on the Island.

Have a goods hols over here

Colin
