You’re right, this is just along shot, I did roughly measure the diagonal (only had limited access to the caravan at the time) but just thought I’d check on here in case anyone else had a free standing tv there and I would have asked for make/model etcI think that you'd be better off using a tape measure than asking for advice in this instance. TV size is the diagonal measurement of the screen, but the stand and screen bezel could make the difference between it fitting or not. One 24 inch TV might fit but a different make (or even model) might be too tall.
Mel, That’s actually a good idea, appreciate your helpAs I have zero visualisation abilities, I would end up cutting a big bit of cardboard to the same dimensions as a likely TV, adding a bit for a base and putting it on the surface to see how it fitted.
You may not need to faff about quite as much.

Thanks for replying, it’s a bit of conundrum as there’s no where really to wall mount one for viewing in the living area as that would be the simple easiest optionShould have said van is lunar venus, and the TV was not caravan specific, just a old one I found up my loft.
Once you have the max height and width measurements of the opening you can check the size of TVs on Web sites like Currys. They give dimensions including stand and bezel. As I have zero visualisation abilities, I would end up cutting a big bit of cardboard to the same dimensions as a likely TV, adding a bit for a base and putting it on the surface to see how it fitted.
