TV with Freeview to be used on Freesat?

I have just been given an LCD TV which has an integrated Freeview tuner. I normally use Freesat with a decoder box. Will the satellite connection and decoder box work okay with the new TV?

Yes, but the integrated "Freeview" decoder will play no part in it.

The Freesat decoder will connect to the TV with ideally an HDMI cable or a scart, depending on the interfaces provided on the two units; or in rare cases phono or "S" video and separate audio might be used. All ultimately achieve the same video and audio signal transmission, just some are more convenient and better than others.

Then via the TV's menu you will select the appropriate input when you want to watch satellite TV.

Agree with JTQ and suggest you switch sat box on first to ensure TV finds it. If TV is cheap it might not. You will probably use a scart lead and the tv menu might list scart. You might have a button the remote labelled source- this is the menu button.
