My TV has a 12v lead (with a cigarette lighter thing on the end) What's my best option for use when I don't have electric hook up:

(a) fix the cigarette lighter lead from tv into the 12v connector thing direct to my 12v plug in the van

or

(b) connect an inverter to the 12v plug in my caravan and use the normal 3pin plug for the tv?

or

(c) and option I don't know about????

Cut the cigarette lighter plug off. Watch which wire is from the centre pin - this is for the '+' pin on the caravan plug.

You can buy 12v caravan plugs to cigarette lighter sockets at caravan accessory shops.

If you have a two pin style 12v socket, in your van , then you can buy a adaptor and just plug the cig style plugs into it.
