tyre bands

Hi all had 2x new tyres fitted today and the fitter was on about tyre bands, are they worth fitting and where could i get them from? all help appreciated thanks mark
 
As I've mentioned before in the thread that Parksy refers to, the material shown on that Youtube link is worthless as it does not show how the vehicles would have reacted without Tyron bands.
 
We had a blow in Germany when travelling at around 60mph while overtaking a truck. I do not know how much having tyron bands helped but the 'van did not sway or become unstable, enabling us to stop safely. I would always have them fitted even though the tyre depot, part of a large group, had not seen them before.
 
I think they are worth having even thought I have been lucky enough not to have a practical demo. Where to get them, go to Tyrons website there is a list of agents. I had mine done at an HiQ tyre depot and suspect it was a better choice than a caravan dealers price wise.
