Tyre date

Hi all, just bought two new tyres for the season, checked the date on them ( at least I presume it's the date) anyway after the DOT and some letters it says 0813 if this is the date, could they have been made within the last week or so, or am I reading it wrong, they are maximiler gt s

they were made in week 8 of 2013, that is between 18th and 24th of February

It's always a good idea to check the date when having new tyres. I once bought a pair for the caravan, and when I had a puncture a couple of years later, we found that one tyre was five years old, and the other 14, yes fourteen, years old! In other words, when bought as new, one was twelve years old, and the other, three.
I now refuse tyres made before the year I'm having them fitted.
