I want to buy a 12 volt tyre inflator. Must have quick inflation time and resonably accurate pressure gauge. I hace one at present that came from woolies for abot £6 but it takes ages to blow up a flat tyre. Any sugestion please.

There are two distinct types of electric inflators. For inflatable boats, lilos etc a high volume, low pressure pump is needed. For tyres a low (relatively) volume, high pressure type is used.

Any tyre inflator will take considerable time from totally flat, particularly if caravan / commercial pressures have to be reached.

I saw at B&Q recently a domestic compressor, about the size of a large vacuum cleaner, which would run compressed air tools. I didn't look what pressure or flow it produced.
