tyre inflators

Any viewson 12 volt inflators able to get to 65 psi and a long cable to get down side of van from car socket seen some £20 any good halfords and other websites or are you looking at £40 plus.
Alot state that thay have a gauge that goes to 250psi but dont say the pump will get there also the heat build up can be a problem on some if it takes a long time to reach its requierd psi(cheers ).

I have one you set the limit mine being 29PSI press the button and a couple of minutes it switches it self of when it arrives at the correct pressure.

I also use it on my car set at 40PSI
The cable is reasonably long as I inflate the caravan when its connected to the car comes complete with carry case very neat it is a quick and as good as anything you will find on a garage forecourt

I know this does not meet the OPs requirement for a 12 Volt DC tyre inflator but after failing with these powered tyre inflators and foot pumps to inflate my 65 psi caravan tyres I found a cycle track pump did a very good job.

This is the "Joe Blow" one I have, it has a very good tyre valve that suits both car tyres and the bike high pressure ones.
It is far easier to inflate that last few psi than I expected. Dont think I would like to inflate a tyre from flat but for routine topping up it is first class.

Hi Forest, I just use the cheapy one from halfords but it is only a dial and not a digital read out. Had to extend the cable, it does the job but next time I would go for something a bit more upmarket, digi read out and auto cut off.

I use the Aldi powerpack/inflator,there is no need for long leads,very usefull.

most retail type tyre inflators would do the job but the guages are cheap and the calibration will move very quickly. I have an expensive Halfords unit and within 6 months the pressure cut off and set points were 6psi out when compared to a calibrated pressure gauge. Use the inflators but always check with a good tyre pressure gauge.

Thanks folks i have a double barrel foot pump thats hard work and dies at 38 psi but got 2 12v types both diffrent and also able to pump 65psi one dies at 32 psi and one has a melt down afteer 3 mins all state thay are good for 100psi (dont think) so glad for tryed and tested ones .

Got me a ring type 600 from maplins £13 and a extention lead £7 .tryed it today all ok.
