All I need is a rough guess at what pressure tyres should be at.

1991 ABI Award Nightstar twin axle... just prepping it for sale. It will not be loaded just van weight and awning. weight is 1300kg. I was thinking 45psi as a guesstimate....

That's one heavy awning you've been using!! My guestimate would be much lower because of it being a TA. These tyres don't have to be up to such a high psi. because there is more load spread over both the axles. My SA has a psi of 42 psi so I would be surprised at anything over 36-38ish...

According to Glasses Guide it weighs 1128kg empty, so as nick says 45psi is way to much. If you can say what the maximum load at what max pressure is stated on the side wall of a tyre, (assuming they are all the same tyres), then I can give you an exact pressure.

Dean, My Lunar Quaser615 (T/A) has tyre sizes 165R13 79 and it is recommended that the pressure is 36psi. The MTPLM for this van is 1450kg so you should be looking at this pressure for your van,

best regards, Martin

Hi Dean, just today I have had a reply from Coachman ref the pressures for my Amara 450/2, rated at 1280kg, they say 50 psi!

Your van must be close to this!

Your coachman will be a single axle unlike the ABI in the initial enquiry. With 4 wheels on the road not only are the tyre probably smaller but the pressures tend to be lower as the weight per axle is lower.

thats assuming its got the correct tyres on of course

its not allways the case my bailey (single axel)came with tyres fitted that had a max pressure rating of 33psi which I thought was a bit low and sure enough under tow it lolloped around like a drunken sailor so to speak down to the tyre place had 8pr tyres fitted max pressure 45psi inflated to 42psi and guess what no more rolling around

check this first
