tyre pressures

hi all.

we moved the van today to change sites and one of the tyres was a bit soft, suspecting a puncture I nipped it down to the local kwik fit who found a nail in the tread. after the repair the fitter asked what pressure do you want it to.

"er dunno ive forgot" I think it was about 42psi.

however I dont have the tyre pressure chart on the lap top can anyone remember the link please, I have looked in previous pages but cannot find it.

I changed the tyres last year to 175R13C 6ply the max pressure stated is 55psi but I know chart recommended a lot less due to the vans weight ie. 1022kg.

thanks in advance, if I dont reply it is not me being rude just that the dongle does not work very well on site.

ps. I am writing this from mcdonalds over one very cold coffee.

You also need to specify the tyre load index that is moulded into the tyre wall, after the size. It is a number possibly between 80 and 100 followed by the speed index letter.

hi all.

while I have been waiting for a reply I googled "caravan tyre pressurs" and came up with a pdf file suggesting a tyre of 175R13C with a load index of 94 should be between 40/44psi for axel loads btween 870/1050kg so 42psi seems a good guess. feel better now but will inflate to 44psi when we next move.

got to go now run out of time

catch you all later
