I am about to replace my caravan tyres and thought i would try tyron. Has anyone any info,good or bad, regarding them

The subject of Tyron bands has come up several times in this forum and has always been very controversial. Those that have them swear by them although the manufacturer has never provided any proof that one would be any worse off without them.
From personal experience of a blowout of a caravan tyre on a motorway last year I can say that the outfit behaved perfectly without Tyron bands (despite a 100% weight ratio), although by the time I was able to come to a stop the tyre had already caught fire.
