Uk Winter Sites

Holiday Resort Unity at Brean.
It's an easy two hour motorway tow from where we live, there have been major improvements to site drainage and good sized hard standing pitches are readily available at a fairly reasonable price. The site itself has full facilities which are nice and warm, the site is clean and well maintained and it's a great base for the annual Somerset Carnivals in November and a good venue for a Christmas / New Year getaway.

Great topic! While lots of people have their favourite, go-to, low-season campsites, it's always good to learn about other hidden gems.

We stayed for 5 nights over Christmas at C&CC Conkers, very nice area in the National Forest and just a short drive from the A42. Lots of wind and rain but not as much as Cumbria and Yorkshire got over the Christmas holiday. We had hard standing, grass very soft, nice warm toilet / shower facilities and a large sink in dishwashing room to wash up all the Christmas dinner pots and pans, which I cooked!! Nice winter walks around the forest and Calke Abbey, just a short drive away.
