Hi I am interested in any comments about the suncamp ultima 360, I have read up via the forum search but unsure as to how this would cope with rough weather conditions.

Our PDQ came to a very sad end last night during a storm, we love our pdq but this is 2nd replacement due to probs with water proofing and now the whole thing has been ripped apart at the seams (dramatic but true!)

We saw the suncamp 360 recently it looks so light but can it stand up to our wonderful changing weather?

Any other suggestions also welcomed. We would like an awning that travels on the side of the van...

Thanks in advance brenda

We have the Ultima 260 and love it. we have had it almost 2 years now and find it good. I must admit though we have not been caught out using it during any major storms but has withstood some serious down pours.

The Ultima 260 packs away into a quite small hold all which is great and doesn't take much to errect, I have no experience of the PDQ awnings although i'm lead to believe you can put them up in around 2 mins?? Both the 260 and 390 will take longer probably around 20 mins ish.

Also the design of the 260 and 390 make that it will not hug the side of your caravan but by taking care pegging correctly you can get a reasonable fitting, i must admit this has not proved any problem to us.

Hope this helps!

Cheers

Andrew.

Hi Brenda,

Like Andrew we have the 260, normal weather okay, but gusty side winds are the porch awnings weakness, as you have no side wall poles to keep it secure it sags and tries to push itself along the awning rails.

We have tied it to the caravan handels to try and and stop it moving.

Fantastic in sunny weather and wet weather with very little winds, never had any leaks, easy to assemble .

I have a 260 porch awning which is about two years old. It has withstood some fairly strong winds over the years, but noticed this weekend that it has started to seep water through the material, but nothing to extreme. Will try waterprooofing but not sure if it will work. Overall I like the awing but agree with other comments about where the wall meet the caravan walls.
