unable to post

It would appear that i can only post if I disable the rich text option.
However it does change the way I lay out my post.

There could be a number of reasons why you cannot use rich text when you post on this forum.
Have you recently changed or updated your web browser, or made any changes to the format on your text editor?
You could try posting with rich text disabled and before clicking on 'Save' try enabling rich text from the 'breadcrumb' at the bottom left of the reply box.
If neither of these options work get back to me and we'll have a look at your reply box toolbar

It does not seem to have had any effect.
I did update to IE 10, but I have now gone back to IE 9, but that has had no effect either.

There appears to be some sort of instability with your web browser Steve.
Have a look on the address bar to see if IE has updated. You may have to do this manually because IE doesn't always update automatically but it's a very simple procedure.
Check the last part of the sticky post added by Sprocket which shows pictures of what the address bar should look like and how to update it.
