Upgrading a Hitch Head.

Is it possible to fit an AlKo hitch head stabiliser to replace the standard hitch head on a 1994 Alko chassis?
My adult daughter has a 1994 Abbey with an AlKo chassis with a standard hitch head. Due to injury to a wrist and the other arm she is physically incapable of operating the Scott stabiliser. I use a Scott on my 1994 Bailey and it does require quite a degree of physical strength. We believe that a the current AlKo hitch head stabiliser may be easier for her to use.

hi Ian, yes I believe it is, as the Alko is a std fitment for their chassis, although I do believe you have to have a dummy bolt or something to stop the damper from moving, while changing the heads over.

Thank you Sproket. That is useful. I think daughter's car may have an extended neck tow ball but mine definitely does not.
Another thought. The AlKo and WinterHoff appear to be marketed as "anti snake" with no mention of damping any pitching of the caravan whilst the "Scott" style damper with the leaf spring does both and does appear to work.. Is this the case?
