Hi Stan, know the area well, spend most of our weekends up there, but have never stayed on that site. We stay on a CS at Thornton Dale but if you need any information on the area at all, please let me know. I know you can walk to Pickering from that site and that there is a nice pub opposite. It's also only a couple of miles from Flamingoland.

Hi Stan

Malton has a market on a Saturday, and a farmers market every so often, plus Malton very nice little town, with a variety of shops.

Pickering, home of the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is worth a visit for the trains. Can travel as far a Grosmont. Goathland Station used in Harry Potter and Heartbeat. Goathland worth a visit to see Mallyan Spout and 'Aidensfield'

Whitby really nice, 199 steps up top the Abbey, but worth it for the view. Old fashioned smoking house selling kippers just by the steps. Also the Magpie Cafe, worth the queue to get great fish and chips.

Dalby Forest, Forest Walks, visitor centre, mountain biking, lovely place.

Scarborough - busy seaside town with castle, usual amusements. Not my cup of tea, but worth a try.

Hutton-Le-Hole, Rosedale Chimney, Farndale, all very pretty places, to walk, get a pub lunch, and generally chill out. Helmsley, Riveuax?? Abbey, for the cultural visitor.

There's plenty to do in the area. Fish and Chips great from chippy on Thornton Dale Road in Pickering. Any more info, let me know.
