Use Something Else Instead Of Blue Chemical??????

Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone out there had thought of using a substitute for the blue chemical or sachets that we put in the holding tank of the toilet, is there a cheaper option?? an is there a cleaner option ???

I would be really interested in any informtion you might be able to give me on this topic.

The cheapest option is to use no chemical at all, but that would not satisfy your second condition in any way!

by cleaner do you mean environmentally better? there is the green chemical which is just as expensive or ofcourse you could fit a sog system instead which negates the use of chemicals but is by no means a cheaper option in the short term

Hi All,

I am more interested in the cost to see if there is a cheaper option to the chemicals on the market, I think I need something in the holding tank for obvious reasons but thought there maybe a house hold product that may do just as good a job but at the fraction of the cost.

use a bucket and empty it in the hedge/under a rowdy neighbours van.

ask the van next door to use their loo.

eat loads of eggs (very binding),eat no fruit and keep the windows open. (don't strike any matches)

nick the toilet cassette from someone elses van, use it and replace later.

wear pull ups

Hi Mel,

I think you are taking this very seriously, so much in fact that I have now checked all neighbours holding tanks to see if they have secured them or if they had a feeling you would be in touch and there chemicals would be in danger.

It seems you have given this subject some wicked thought and I can imagine that you would be the person who would throw bread onto my roof so the birds dont wake you up in the morning. Lol

The latest view amongst Motorhomers (we have returned to Caravanning after 20 years Motorhomming) is the use of Biological Liquid clothes Wash. One capfull in the holding Tank, also in the Flush,and you can use it for washing clothes!" DO NOT use that which has Softener as this will block the valves?? etc.Go for the cheapest.
