Used Saab 9-3 as a tow car?

Hi Lizzie,

It is the B235 engine used on the 9-5 that is prone to sludge (not the B207 engine used in the 9-3SS/SW/SC, which has no such issues).

Otherwise interesting and accurate (right down to the eye watering bills the diesels can and do generate, I can confirm from personal experience).

Thanks,

Jules.

The problem is when your not in a position to be able to manufacture your own engine you have to borrow someone elses. Then problems like these arise.Stretching timing belt change intervals, dpf issues, dmf issues. If someone at GM cant write a decent map well there you go.The fiat/alfa were the engine originated from never seen any of these problems as such.
