Vango Airbeam Varkala 420

I know the Kampa Rally Air gets good press on here, but has anyone looked at the Vango Varkala? The reason I ask is that the Kampa 390 is going to end up crossing windows on my van but the Vango 420 may well not. (I need to check). The down side compared to the Kampa seems to be that you inflate each pole separately and there are cross beams that you also need to inflate. Even so it is going to be quicker than poles. Any thoughts or experience? Thanks in advance.

We ordered the 330 for that same reason the 390 would have gone across the rear window

When a air awning goes over the roof it will just bounce about & hopefully cause no damage ....
Unlike the damage that the poles will do ....

Its not the poles that are the problem; it is the argument about the poles. :lol:

Our current full awning which was a "budget" (read chaep and nasty) awning when we bought it is starting to fall apart so we will replace it this year or next. We already have a good porch awning (with poles that we have managed to scratch the van with) so want the replacement to be a full size or close to full size awning. So the smaller Kampa one to avoid the windows is no good. Trouble is the Vango 420 may not be 420 cm between the side walls. In fact the schematic shows it as 415cm across the bottom front wall but just 375cm across the top. I am trying to find out what the size really is.

Mel, looking at the video at around 22 seconds the chap who is about 6 foot tall is pumping up a centre beam which he duly places as a support in the centre of the roof, dont know if teh Kampa one is the same perhaps Sprocket or Sir Roger could enlighten us, seems a bit more work involved.and a step ladder!!

For me, most jobs require a step ladder .

The Kampa seems to have all the poles and crossbeams connected so you only pump in one place and the whole lot goes up. The Vango does require pumping of each member.
