vat back on caravans

Hi all,
can anyone tell me if anyone who is registered disabled can reclaim vat on a new caravan?.I know you can get it back on a new motorhome,so is it the same for caravans

Hello vitesse, I, m registered disabled and upto now i, ve heard that you cannot claim vat on caravans. Yes you are right on Motorhomes but only if you buy through the Motability scheme. When we were buying our caravan I phoned up Motablity theirselves and a lady said only if you bought a Motorhome through Motablity. Don,t think theirs any change since I rang up 15 months ago.

Hi erica,
thanks for taking the time to reply,Im not really into motorhomes as yet so looks like i,ll have to stick to paying full whack again.

Hi
I remember seeing in one of the Club magazines an advert from a dealer. If you were receiving the higher rate DLA then they would not charge VAT and if there were any problems they would fight the case in Court. I was annoyed as I was waiting to pick my new Van up. I even rang them and they said that they had already been to court on one occasion and won.
I have just had a look for the magazine but unfortunately can't find it. If I remember correctly the dealer was Lazydays telephone number is 019525502820 282
Hope this helps

Les
