Warm them up with a hairdryer to soften the glue and peel off, clean any residue with white spirit and wash area after to remove any trace of the spirit.

Hi Brian,

Try warming the velcro up with a hair dryer the heat should loosen the glue so you can peel of the velcro then use turps substitute to clean off the adhesive, dont let the nozzle of the hair dryer get too close to the paintwork as you might damage the paint

Hi Brian and anyone else that is following this post. After the removal of the adhesive with the White Spirit/Canadian Turpentine it is then a good idea to kill the likely long lingering smell with Methylated Spirit. If possible get some White not the Purple it can be used at a later date/something else where there is a risk of staining. The Meth's will evaporate very quickly and little or no evidence of the removal will be detected.

Note of caution I was advised to remove tree sap from my paint work using white spirit
I tried but saw that it was actually removing the paint work so stopped as it is a brand new van I do regret it somewhat

so becarful how hard you rub
