We got our alloy ones from Jacksons of Old Arley, they just supplied an extra fixed length pole about 750mm long and the sliding section only comes out a short amount.

C&P,

Our caravans internal lenght is 6.15m, we have one Veranda pole which spans half the Awning (one complete front panel), we leave the other front panel completely out, or zipped in depending on the weather.

2.6m for each pole is about right, as you will have a middle supporting pole to clamp against.

best regards, Martin

C&P,

We only have one Veranda Pole and this spans across one front panel.

If you look at most full awnings of 5m and over, you will see that they have two front panels, these are both zipped to the middle section (which in our case is about 50cm) and the corner sections (again about 50cm). Our awning has five supporting poles spread evenly over its length, so the span is not that great.

If you add your two poles plus the corner and middle sections 2.6 should be fine.

eg. 2.6 (x 2) + 0.5 (x 3) = 6.7

Hope this helps and best regards, Martin

None of them go the full width only from the front corner upright pole to the centre upright also the awning width at the front is not usually equal to the van length as this includes the front and back panels and is measured at the longest point.
