Hi Homer
Dr Jean Paulus email address is:
janus.paulus@orange.fr
This email address is live as I used it last week and received a reply from prompt reply from Dr Jean Paulus when I tried to book an appointment for our dog prior to our return at the end of August 2011.
I don't now if it is relevant to you but Dr JP could not meet our request for an appointment as his clinic is closed from 25-28 August.
Dr JP speaks excellent English - to be on the safe side I had emailed him both in English and in French (Babelfish translation) but he replied in excellent English.
Dr JP's phone number, including the France Code, is 0033 3 21 88 46 00 although we could only get an ansaphone message, in French of course, when we tried last week.
Fortunately I had picked up a business card with Dr JP's email address and other details when we used his services on the way home in Summer 2010.
I've now booked with a vet in St Omer
Clinique vétérinaire Du Haut Pont, Saint Omer (email: vetstomer@orange.fr). The receptionist there speaks excellent English but will only take bookings by email NOT by phone as she said they had had problems with English "no shows"
We've booked at Camping La Chaumier to enable us to go to the vet. I do find Chateau Gandspette rather expensive and was actively seeking an alternative near to t Calais.
Hope this helps.
Tim

Hi,
thanks for the info. Stayed at La Chaumiere for the last 2 years but find it just a little awkward to get to. We'll be coming home at the end of September so cost is lower and vet should be open. My only misgiving is that every time we've stayed at Gandspette there have been thefts from caravans and camper vans. Thanks again and enjoy your holiday,
Homer

For the last year, at least, Chateau du Gandspette have employed a security firm to patrol the grounds, so any problems with opportunist thieves ought to have been dealt with.
