Received this today, don't know if it is true but thought it worth posting.......

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG ALL YOUR CONTACTS:

Be alert during the next few days: Don't open any message with an attached file called "Invitation", regardless of who sent it. It's a virus that opens an Olympic Torch that "burns" the whole hard disk of your computer. This virus will come from someone who has your e-mail address; that's why you should send this e-mail to all your contacts. It's better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus

DON'T open it and shut down your computer immediately .. This is the worst virus announced by CNN, it's been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. The virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there's no repair yet for this particular virus. It simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disk, where vital information is kept.

Also:- Emails with pictures of Osama Bin-Laden hanged are being sent and the moment you open these emails your computer will crash and you will not be able to fix it! This e-mail is being distributed through countries around the globe, but mainly in the US and Israel. Don't be inconsiderate; send this warning to whomever you know. If you get an email along the lines of "Osama Bin Laden Captured" or "Osama Hanged" don't open the attachment.

Thanks for the warning Brian. I had an unusal one myself last week. It asked if I could identify the pervert that was seen running away on "campus" wearing only his underwear. The attachment was apparently a photo of the person, but I will never know as I deleted it straight away. funny, the Norton didn't alert me to any virus, now I'm thinking I might have missed something......

Thanks for the warning Brian. It was much appreciated, however on this occassion it seems that the warning you received was a hoax, according to Symantec, the Norton people. Still better to be safe than sorry!

Just received an email apparently from Paypal saying some problem with my details. The link to click on appeared to be the genuine Paypal site.

I use Thunderbird for mail and it opened a window saying "Thunderbird thinks this message is an email scam" and asking if I really want to visit some website with an odd name.

My all time favorite Virus spoof.

-------------------------------------

Virus Alert.

There is a new virus. The code name is "WORK". If you receive WORK from your colleagues, your boss, via e-mail, or from anyone else-- do not touch WORK under any circumstances. This virus wipes out your private life completely.

If you should happen to come in contact with this virus, take two friends and go straight to the nearest bar. Order drinks and after three rounds, you will find that WORK has been completely deleted from your brain.

Forward this virus warning immediately to at least five friends. Should you realize you do not have five friends, this means you are already infected by this virus and WORK already controls your whole life. If this is the case, go to the bar and stay until you make at least five friends. Then retry. I think I have five friends but am not entirely positive.......so I'm headed for the bar anyway. Never hurts to be safe.
