Let us be glad that our holiday getaways are not affected by the ash from the unpronouncable volcano. I do feel sorry for everyone who has been stranded or had their hols ruined. The last eruption went on for over a year. Hope this one is shorter.

I've just posted on another forum that my son is stranded - but at least he's not in an airport terminal.

I think anyone with a pre-booked ferry crossing (ie most caravanners) should be OK - but the advice is not to turn up if you haven't as the ferries are full to bursting point!

We're off fairly shortly, but I hope things will have quietened down by then!

My niece and nephew are stuck in Cyprus at the moment - can't get on a flight back until Tuesday pm and they should be back in school on Monday Morning - don't suppose they are too worried though!

Nothing against flying (we do too), but one can really enjoy the peace and quiet outside in the garden these last couple of days. (We live right under the flight path of Frankfurt airport).

My MIL is supposed to be flying to Cyprus on Monday for a well earned break. She cares full time for her mum, who were looking after for the week. This would have been the first full week break she will have had in over 2 years.

she is meeting friends at Gillingham Dorset and staying at their villa but looks like she will be staying at Gillingham, Still shes still getting her break!!!!

Same here Lutz we live on the flight path to Manchester airport, just got in from Blacks haw Moore Caravan site where we spent a cracking weekend, weather red hot for all 4 days plus no jet noise has it is also on the flight path, quite eerie, you can't explain it when you have lived with aircraft noise for 40 odd years

My sons/DIL are in Morocco. They are supposed to be coming home Wednesday but it's beginning to look doubtful.

I drove down the M50 yesterday and despite it being sunny the Malverns could only just be made out because of the haze. Whether this was because of the ash I don't know but it sure was weird.

Only one to blame GB, l am blaming him for everything else, might has well blame for this.

Just listened to the Jeremy Vine programme this dinner seems the aircraft that can answer the airlines problems is in bits, about usual probably under funded like everything else, robbed Peter to pay Paul about usual for GB.

And l am not joking, think of the lads trying to get back from Afghanistan after six months tour of duty, he's not mentioned thing about them only holidaymakers that he hopes will keep him in power.

The Icelandic government miss heard Mr. Darling. He phoned them up asking for our cash which they lost but thought he said ash so it is not Mr. Brown at fault but his side kick in No. 11.

I had heard that it was a case of 'Odin's Revenge' as we dared to ask for some money back.

I read that some of our RN ships will only be able to carry 300 troops. Why not put an extra 2 carriages on 1 of the eurostar trains. Will save billions on the fuel cost of the ship.

Still GB is trying, gord bless him!!
