Volvo V70 D3 (163 PS) SE Geartronic for towing

. Hi all, does anyone tow with Volvo V70 D3 (163 PS) SE Geartronic. I am thinking of changing my aging V70 Petrol (140bhp) for this model, I tow an Elddis Avante (1360 mptlm), CC gives a 79% ratio, just seeking advice from anyone who actually tows with one. Thanks.

We tow a Bailey Senator Indiana (1500kg) with an 05 plate 163 ps geartronic V70. This is an 86% match.
Great towcar in our opinion, more than enough power and torque, stable and the auto box works very well.

Many thanks Trev, just seeking assurance I suppose. You have confirmed what I thought, that this will make a good tow car, and running costs will be less than my current car. Thanks again.

I tow a Lunar Clubman SB MTPLM 1440 which works out at an 82% match.The car tows it brilliantly although the mpg drops to about 27 the only problem I have had is when I when I went on the Ferry the jockey wheel just touched. I put that down to me being used to towing with a Hyundai Sante Fe which is a lot higher up, and forgetting the Volvo is lower down.

Thanks for the info carper. Your mpg towing sounds so good to me, at present I am lucky to get 24! (140bhp petrol V70, Auto), luv it and will be sorry to see it go.
