WASHING YOUR CARAVAN ON SITE

Boys and their toys, nice clean vans, lots off dirty cars, don't get me wrong, nice clean vans you should take pride in your vans, but think off the old people who can no longer clean their vans how do you thing they feel, watching all you young ones, plus HIGH water rates we have to pay down here in Cornwall. Liz

Our van lives for most of the year outside on a farm, backed in against a hedge. There is no water at the storage, so occasionally we have been embarrassed into cleaning the green gunge and bird dirt off on site. It's the people who watch and comment who are sad. Why don't they go for a walk instead.

before we had to put our caravan in storage we used to think whats the point of going away if your gonna stand there washing your caravan you must be mad but since we moved ours to a nearby farm we cant wash our van so i fully understand why people do it now

I often wash my van on site, I dont really care what people think of me doing it either.

I store my van at a secure site so really the only opportunity I get to clean it is when we are away in it.

I find everything about the caravanning experience relaxing, not just the laying around in it drinking myself into a coma.

Carry on watching me and see how much sleep I lose. 🙂

I didn't read any of the posts, it tells you how many posts there are for each thread on the subjects page.

I don't know about Practical Caravan, its more like Practical Care in the Community!

Get a life you sad bunch!

I wash my caravan on site because I get bored.

On holiday I always want to see what is over that hill, round the next corner, up that byway/footpath and what beer does the next pub sell?

I can relax for about 1/2 a day then it is usualy the Land Rover (don't start!) or the caravan that gets a good seeing to.

I have to wait for after dark for what really needs a good seeing too.

Sorry Mod!

Naw! I just expect people to look the other way! LOL!!!

Clive v giving your landrover or caravan a good seeing too is not something we ned to know on a family friendly site such as this,

Nice to see both yourself and Lord B back posting, its been a bit on the normal side without you both.

I wash the front of the van on site

I wash my car and van on site because I want to, do I care what othersthink? NO. We all relax in different ways, if someone wants to sit and do nothing and find it relaxing then thats fine. Others like to keep busy and find that relaxing.

Each to their own .

My God, what are we coming to, nothing but a nation of busy bodies, what the god damn difference does it make to anyone if someone decides to wash their own 'van on site? I wouldn't mind betting that if Dave was watching a dolly bird washing outside of their 'van would he still be a busy body? I think not.

I wonder if there would be so many protests if my slim attractive wife helped wash the van whilst wearing her thong bikini and soaping up the windows with her.....

oh dear, i am geting side tracked again.

Caravanners are some of the most eco friendly people in this country. from carrying the water to the van and carrying the waste from the van, hand washing the van and using only 16 amps (at the most) of electricity and a small amount of lpg to acheive virtually everything you do at home. It would do a lot of people who do not caravan to take up the conservation of scarce resources. IMHO
