Waste disposal on sites

I always empty my toilet flush water into the toilet cassette and then take that to the toilet emptying point. It gives the cassette an extra rinse.

Re emptying the hotwater tank onto the grass: The CC site at Henley asks you to wait until your outfit is on the roadway before opening your drain tap to save the grass.

I find it hard to believe that people can defend the practice of venting waste containing teeth cleaning spit, washing up slops and grease etc onto a pitch where a Tent / awning may soon be pitched and a 2 year old child may innocently be playing.

How unbelievably bone idle and inconsiderate.

Over the August B/H on a commercial site in Cornwall I took a fellow caravanner to task as he slid his waste hose over the drinking water filler pipe and flushed it through.

How touching it was to see such concern for the cleanliness of the interior of his waste pipe, but absolutely Bug..r All concern for his fellow campers who would subsequently be dinking his effluent.

Moral of story - Don't ever be tempted to use the filler pipe attached to a drinking water tap unless it's your own. And assume everyone else is filthy and inconsiderate.

reading this with interest. we stay on a site in Cornwall where there is no provision for waste water and you are told to empty grey waste in the hedge byt the owner. This has always caused us concern however, i have never noticed any smells.

Seems that some people either do not read a post properly or only read what they want to read.

Just to emphasise, we do not empty our hot water tank and travel with it full. We do not have an onboard water tank so we do not empty it on the grass. I was just wondering what people do with the excess water in the onboard tank.

We do not run water from the bathroom sink onto the grass. That would be disgusting and unhygenic.

Anway now that I have finished with winding up every one I am off for a beer! ๐Ÿ™‚
