Waste pipe configuration question

We have a Lunar 640 that has three waste outlets on the off side. Yesterday as a result of another thread I thought I would clean the pipes by giving a good dose of steriliser.

I blocked up all three waste outlets, poured solution into shower until it came up to the plug hole. I then went and did the kitchen one which seemed to take forever to top up to the plug hole. When I went back to the shower, I noticed that the shower tray had filled up with water leading it to suspect that the kitchen waste pipe and the shower pipe were somehow inter connected and the waster water from the kitchen waste pipe had bubbled up into the shower compartment.

Can any one verify whether this configuration is correct and that the two waste pipes are interlinked? If so does any one know why this is?

Hi Ian, I had the same problem in my challenger 500, the waste pipes must all be linked together ?? I dont know why they are linked together but I would be interested in seeing what the response on here is like. I stopped the problem, once the drain is full by putting the plug in and then filling up the rest.

Hi we have a Delta 640 which should be the same configeration. The pipes should all go to a seperate outlet unless someone has tried to reduce the 3 outlets into 1. A problem that I find is that there are sometimes low point ndr the van in the drain pipes where blockages and freezing can ocur. To clear the pipes I usualy get Soda Christals and block each of the outlets then start at the shower pour some christals into the outlet then boiling water and put the plug in. Then do the same with the basin and then the kitchen sink, leave for 10 mins and rinse with boiling water. have found that it always does the trick.

Have a look under the van and see if someone has joined the shower and sink, if they have I would seperate them.

Hi Ian just been out to van and had a look underneath, i say i had this problem with my shower tray and i was mistaken. I had the problem with the basin in the bathroom as it is slightly lower than the kitchen sink. Underneath the van it appears that the kitchen sink and the hand basin join and go to one outlet and the shower tray has its own outlet. I only have 2 outlets.

Hope this helps

Ian

Just to confirm that on Swift product there are two outlets, with the kitchen sink and the vanity linked below floor level to stop any backing up of the system should the tank be full. The shower is on a seperate outlet.

Kath
