Waste Pipe

Caravanning Newbie Question...I need some waste pipe. I know a trip to my local caravan outlet will do the job.
But having done some research, I am wee bit unsure if I need 23mm or 28mm?
As is there an alternative, will some other tubing suffice?

hi Dave,
this may sound really silly even to a newbie, but the only real answer is to measure it!!! or find something that fits and take that along when you go to buy the pipe, for instance the inside diameter of a cap off a 2ltr plastic Pepsi bottle is 28mm.
I am assuming you require the flexible pipe that runs from the van outlet to the water hog,
 
Having spent a bit of time looking into waste outlets (not literally) recently (see other thread) it appears there are two sizes. One is 3/4" and the other is 28mm. These are internal sizes for the hose and the 28mm is 33mm o/d. The 3/4" one is 23mm o/d , rather bizarrely I use it for the overflows on my water butts!
