Waste Water Niggle

My van is an Abbey 214 GTS 1991. There are are 2 pipes under the van to which I "attempt" to screw on a plastic reinforced tube. The trouble is, it only just fits on, the slightest nudge on the waste water carrier, and the tubes are off, leaving waste water to run on the pitch. My local caravan suppliers, advised me "that it is a problem". but could not offer any help.

I wondered if anybody else experiences the same thing, and have they got round the problem, and if so please let me know. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Norman, the water outlets are a simple push on fit for the ribbed grey pipe, not a screw fitting at all.

The recess the grey pipe goes into is not very deep, and yes, a nudge will cause them to become detached.

Hello Norman,

I had a 1989 Esprit caravan with the same pipes. The pipes were a push fit into a black rubber type of 'end-piece adaptor'(hard to describe.. sorry!) which then pushed into the outlets screwed to the van. I never had problems with this. They are probably missing?

Thanks for the replies, Damian & Ron. I understand what you mean Ron, that sort of adaptor would cure the problem. I will have a good look round and try to find something suitable.

Thanks again to you both.
