Hi Anthony & Sharon, i think you will find your caravan does have a water filter fitted, but it may not be located next to the water point on the outside of your caravan. My current caravan has one located here but my previous van did`nt,even though it did have a filter elsewhere. Best option is to consult the handbook or ask your dealer.

Good Luck

Hi, Most new vans don't have a water filter fitted, you can fit one ito the cold water sysem quite easily if you wish, i personally think that filters in tours are pointless because of the way most folk use their van, the filter once used stands with water in it for weeks on end, and unless you flush the system each time you use it the stagnent water goes straight into the system, but as i said that's only my opinion!!

Most new caravans DO have a filter, either in the inlet fitting or just below the kitchen cold supply. Budget caravans don't usually have a filter.

I use Econoflow filters, from www.filtapac.co.uk which has a replaceable element and works out cheaper in the long run. I use two, one filtering all water just after the inlet and the other "double filtering" the kitchen cold supply. Having seen the state of the old filter when changed, I'd never wash or clean my teeth in unfiltered water never mind drink it, even from CC sites.

Some filters need to be changed after 30 days use, others after a year - choose wisely it makes a difference to cost and efectiveness.

thanks to all your replies,we have been in touch with coachman and they have told us that the manufactures don,t put them in all their caravans as the way that people use their vans as the filters can sit in stagnent water for months on end unless you change your filter each time you use your van,so thanks again for your input

Many caravanners can't be bothered to drain their system between each tow but otherwise any "stagnant" water is drained out of the filter.

Perhaps Coachman have no regard for Health and Safety, if they've given that explanation for not fitting a filter.
