Hi All
I'm new to the forum, and I have a technical problem that i hope someone can help with.

We have a Ace Jubilee with a truma us103 type water heater

My query is as follows.

Every time the caravan is connected to the electric the water heats up even if the water heater switch is off.
Can anyone advise if (1) this is normal' and (2) will this do any harm.

The only time the caravan is connected to electricity without having water connected is on the morning prior to going away (to cool the fridge/freezer)

Thanks for taking the time to read and i look forward to any replies.

1) No - there must be another switch somewhere
2) the element will burn out if there is no water in the tank.

Assuming the Gas is on , EHU connected, Mains switch to the Truma Ultrastore off I suspect the gas control is erroneously on. So when you connect to the EHU the gas circuit will fire up and there you are. Feel the gas exhaust outlet. If hot you are running on gas.

The gas will only light if the cowl cover has been removed.

I would pull the fuse and only insert it when you need hot water until the problem is solved. If it heats up with the fuse pulled then it is the gas.
