Water inlet leak.

Hi,
I’m making this enquiry on behalf of a campsite neighbour. He has a leak directly behind the water inlet. It’s a Bailey Pegasus Rimini with an off board whale pump. The water inlet inside the caravan is connected with what appears to be a plastic screw collar, and this is where the leak is, but it won’t tighten (or loosen) as it just free spins. Is this meant to screw tighten or is it another kind of connection? Any help is appreciated.

The only time I had his problem was frost damage. My feeling is that there may be a split where the screw point goes in and out of sight.

The most common connections are simply push fit, it may be just a loose connection which needs the pipe pushing firmly back into the connector.

As a follow on to Damians reply, the push fit type of connection, to remove the pipe, you push the collar away from the pipe, and then pull the pipe, to replace it, make sure there are no sharp edges and push the pipe into the connector.

I had some pipes come loose on a new van , by fitters cutting the pipes to short.

Thanks for all replies. I’m not sure what the issue actually was, but a caravan service engineer was on site earlier for something unrelated, and he fixed the issue.
