We have a Swift Challenger 500Se which is a bit damp at the moment!!

Whilst out at the weekend we saw water pouring out the bottom of the caravan whilst the pump was on. When we looked inside the cupboards there was surface water on the floor.

It has smelt funny for a while (which I presumed was the pipes!), the tap pressure hasn't been good and the bedroom tap will only run if the kitchen tap is on.

We're presuming it's the incoming pipes but my question is how do we get access to check where it's coming from other than inside the cupboards??

Thanks for any help.

Marie, you can probably see the cooling unit pipes through the grilles.

To remove them, there should be a small turnbutton on the left centre of each grille.

Turn that 1/4 turn anticlockwise to release the lock, then gently prise the grille out from the leftand it should come away.

To refit, place the right hand edge in first as it has a locating lug on it, and press the left side back into place.

The grilles may well be stuck to the van side by excess mastic from the frame, which is not a problem, just takes a while to give when trying to remove them.

Hi Marie, I to have a Swift Challenger 500se (2004) when you say you saw water pouring out from the bottom is this in the area under the fixed bed if so there is a drain tap inside the caravan under the bed near the water heater, if the tap is pointing upwards it is open and you need to close it by pushing it down so that it lays flat.

If you think you have a leak anywhere else start looking where the water comes into the caravan where the cold water pipe connects at the rear of the inlet valve, then there should be a "T" joint under the sink, after that there should be another "T" joint where the cold water pipe connects to the water heater, after that the hot and cold pipes go right around the back of the caravan and into the shower room, from there they go to the wash hand basin opposit the bed, there may be another couple of joints under the kitchen sink for the hot and cold water connection to the taps.

All the connections are a push fit, hopefully all you need to do is push the pipe back into the joint, failing that a new joint will be needed.

Hope this helps

Marie, the water pipes are "Blue" (cold) and "Red" (hot)
