As there were no power to pump on our Topaz checked the fuse numbered 7 in the control box ESM2000 and it was sound.Checked the voltage on the points where the fuse came out from and it read 2.9 v. At this time I will not go into rest of story but does anyone know why this is so. Thanks.

Hello Robert,

If the fuse box only has 2.9V coming out of the relevant fuse, then its not likely the pump will work. There must be some reason for the voltage to be that low.

Do the ceiling lights nearly go out when the pump operates? If so it suggests you may not have enough power available to run the pump. You should have a charged caravan battery connected to supply the power needed.

If you have a battery connected, then it may not be charged enough, or it could be faulty.

The pump could be faulty.

Without more information its not possible to be more specific.

Not sure what system is fitted in the Topaz - but is there a battery level indicator on the panel? This should be well in the green or 12.6V fully charged (lead-acid battery).
Are other 12v items working well? I suspect that the lights might well be dull, or become dimmer when you try to operate the pump - in which case it is likely to be the battery.
The battery should never be left in a discharged state (for example in storage over winter) in which case try charging it, although it's likely to need replacement.
