Water Pump

I wonder if anyone has any idea what this is and how to cure it?

I took my 'van out this weekend and on occasions there was quite a heavy and noisy pulsating from the water pump system. This was not all of the time but quite frequently in short bursts of up to 10 seconds. On a couple of occasions it also carried on for a few seconds after the taps had been turned off. It has happend before but seemed more frequent and noisier this time.

My caravan is a 2007 Abbey 418 GTS with a Shurflo pump and accumulator.

The system was always full and fully primed. All of the fittings and connectors appear to be tight.

It wasn't picked up on the service back in March ( but that doesn't mean anything ) and the dealer was one of Discover's recent casualties. So I'm unable to take it back there.

Morning Jim,

As the Shur-Flo pump gets older, it could be that the pressure setting for the pressure switch and accumulator needs adjusting.

This is quite normal, and while it wouldn't explain the increased loudness of the pump, it would explain the pulsing.

If you drop me an e-mail, I'll e-mail you back a guide showing you how to adjust the settings yourself, which may solve the issue.

Thanks,

Ash
