I heard on the radio this morning that the weather at the end of this month and August is going to be sunny and warm. :~)

Lets hope this is right.

A bit too late for me, i'm on holiday after work this Saturday for a fortnight. Does anyone know what the weather is going to be like in Devon and Cornwall for the next couple of weeks?? Surely it can't get any worse,

Gavin.

Don't want to depress you but none of the pundits seem to be optimistic about anything apart from a brief heatwave sometime in August.

However, they are well known for getting it wrong. Have a good holiday whatever it does.

We did Devon and Cornwall 2 years ago but not likely to return. Nice place but just too damm expensive.

Cheers Scotch Lad. Cornwall is just one of these places we had to go to when we got the caravan after seeing the photos of Trewethett Farm in the glossy magazines. I just hope the long journey is worth it. The first week we're spending in Woodlands theme park to keep the kids happy. We've heard a lot of positive things about it on this Forum, so i'm sure they'll be happy whatever the weather,

Gavin.

Do please have a good holiday. Getting away is the best part.

I don't want to sound negative, maybe we just saw, and paid one too many parking charge and that year we visited we had also been to France and found it 40% cheaper so it was noticed. Pity, because it is a really nice place.

I am sorry but I like the heat and guaranteed sun and value for money

Me too, I like that in France you hardly EVER pay for parking, and lots of places of interest are free, where here you'd be charged

Go to uk.weather.com you can get a 14 day forecast. We're off to Cornwall next Thursday.

We've had two years on the trot of glorious weather. Won't be getting it this time.

I hope you have a good time. (I've lost my waterproof jacket!).

Hi Lisa, just checked the weather.... wish i hadn't!

Oh well, they do say Woodlands has the biggest indoor play centre in the UK.

As for the waterproof jacket, it's a pity i'll miss you. Coming from Skye, i've got a few spare!

We'll be in Trewethett Farm a week Monday for a week after our week in Woodlands,

Hope you have a good time too,

Gavin.

Thanks. I know someone who I think will be on the site the same time as you and we'll be about 15 miles away from your site!!.

Our local forecast for the West country (Bristol, Glos, Som and Wilts) is for the weather to improve so should be OK for you.

Woodlands is a great place for the kids but as it is quite high in local terms it can be wetter than Torbay for example.

It doesn't really matter because you WILL be getting wet even in glorious sunshine - enjoying yourselves.

Hi Gavin

1st 2 weeks of June were warm and sunny - inc Trewethett Farm !

Pitches face almost due West - try to get pitch at front as views are better (esp Pitch 6 !). Keep checking the weather forecasts - often North coast is different from South coast. If wet, do Truro (inc Skinners Brewery), Eden Project. Hope it cracks the flags for you ! Ann

Hi Ann, only problem is my wife doesn't like to be too near the cliff edge. We stayed at a site in Durness at Easter, right on a cliff top on the North coast of Scotland. It was a bit breezy to say the least and she never had a proper nights sleep the whole time we were there,

Gavin.

Today (Friday) we had some strong winds come up and our large pots on front of house got bowled over, now normally they are heavy to shift but was surprised when putting them back in place that they were dry as bone. Now i know that lots of you have had bad experiances in the last couple of weeks but although it has rained here it has not been sufficient to soak in.Early in the year we had what i call normal wet weather and our lawns were unfit to walk on and now they can be mowed midday onwards.

Mod 2. You have left me a little confused! concerning

Capital letters? I have been led to believe that they indicate

you are shouting? But have never been led to believe it is rude

as well?

NOW I AM INDEED A LITTLE DEAF, HAVE LOST 60% EARING IN MY

RIGHT EAR. [sorry lov]] wife has just pionted out i was shouting

again.

Sorry.. shouting is not rude.......

And personelly thought Harrys post was funny, so i suggest you

lighten up a bit... mod or no mod....

Mod 2 is correct, upper case letters are considered shouting - but only in answer to another persons post. Harry wasn't replying to anyone in particular so God only knows how he was rude to, he just posted a joke.

It was also blatantly obvious from the > that it was a copy/paste from an email.

I will apologise to you on Mod 2s behalf Harry ...... hehheh!

Rule 9 in Forum Etiquette, for those who have not bothered to read the Forum Etiquette

"Please do not type messages in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS as on internet forums this is considered to be shouting and therefore bad manners."

Posts in all Capitals is shouting, regardless of whether in reply or not.

Bad manners = Rude, unless of course the English Language has deteriorated so much that the parallell has been removed by the Eurocrats.

I do not need apologies to be made on my behalf at any time, if I am wrong, I can apologise quite well on my own.

I am sorry you feel so afended mod2 [or so it seems]

But just to correct you once again, you are WRONG.

You see, you state using only capitals ON THE INTERNET is shouting[ which it is] and therefore rude [which it is not]

Now in MY defence, i will call upon FIVE OTHER SITES I USE,

AND THEIR MODERATORS TO CONFIRM SHOUTING IS NOT RUDE.

So you see, as far as i am concerned, you are free to feel

that the use of capitals is rude....

But you do not have the right to claim that this feeling you

have is shared by ALL THE INTERNET. as it clearly is not.....
