I have been trying to find the weight of my van for some time now,After a good look around the chassis,i have found a plate, and on this plate there is stamped GAW 900KG.

Does that mean my van is just under a ton in weight.

My car has a towing capacity of 1200 kg,so does this mean i can only put up to 300kg contents inside van?

please help i am very much confused

GAW will be the Gross Allowable Weight, i.e. the weight of the caravan when it's already fully laden. The unladen weight or MIRO as it's known today will, of course, be less but nowhere near 300kg less. It would be very unusual to have such a large permissible payload for a caravan of that size.

The caravan in question is a lunar clubman 460 4

but is now a 3, i have removed the rear bunk.

There was a van for sale on ebay like mine and when i asked how heavy it was the seller said it was 750kg,So if that is true then the van should carry 150kg of cargo, would that be right

thanks
