We were queuing for tickets to go to the show at 11.00am this morning (out in the rain - nice one!), but people coming out of the Stadium told us not to bother, as the show is really poor. One group had even been refunded, after complaining. Loads of us turned and left.

Has anyone been to this show? What's it like?

Jeff

We are thinking of going tomorrow, i'm a bit apprehensive now. don't fancy travelling from west wales and having a wasted journey.

Be interesting to see if anyone actually went in and what they thought.

One disappointed lady we spoke to said that she had been to the CIA shows in previous years and always found them to be pretty good, but this one had very little to see and not a lot of accessory stands.

If it had only been one or two groups who were unimpressed, we would have carried on in, but it really was a steady flow.....

bummer, we were thinking of going on Sunday, however, i must admit, i hate the thought of having to pay money to see dealers trying to sell their new products. they should be paying for it, you dont pay a car sales garage to look around.

still, its a day out!

(I am so tight! lol)

As LB said, this topic is in chit chat as well. The Cardiff Caravan show is a complete waste of time. Jeff, we must have been in the queue about the same time as you, but when we came out about 1pm they had segregated the "ins" from the "outs", probably to stop "outers" complaining to "inners"!!

Mike

The makers have to pay to display their vans.

The people who sold us our van said that Burstner didnt go to the NEC last Feb, & its doutful they will go this Feb because of the cost of displaying.

Sorry Graham, I agree with Mike.

Why should you pay for them to advertise their vans because that is what you are doing.

The people who advertise their wares on T.V. don't expect you to put money in a slot on the TV ;O)

Read the posts above and the one in Chit Chat, which again is referred to above, and you have your answer.

Anthony, my remark about cleaning the oven was simply meant to convey how bad the show was, and was posted as an attempt at humour. Obviously your sense of humour differs from mine. You posted at around one o'clock in the morning, asking if anyone had been into the show. I posted at around 8.30pm saying the show was rubbish. So, what's YOUR problem?

Btw, I don't have a high horse, as I suffer form vertigo!!!!

Anthony, no apology neccesary, but accepted, nevertheless.

I'd say that there was less this time, but difficult to judge, as the Stadium is three or four times a big as CIA, so what was there was lost in the middle, if you see what I mean.

I would have expected Mendip caravans to have been there, emblazonned with "Discover" group banners since the takeover, but they weren't. There was only one very small accesory stall, with not a lot on it, and the rest was mainly clothing.

After all the hype it was extremely disappointing. There was supposed to be a stand of statics and holiday homes, but when they brought them down, they wouldn't fit thru the tunnel! That's possibly a sign of how badly organised it was.

Anthony - depending where you live, we have found Sunnyhaven Caravans at Gorseinon Swansea excellent for sales and after sales service. We have bought two new caravans and one second hand van from them over the years and on each occassion we have had excellent attention. We have normally dealt with Ian the managing director. Although it is the same company as Blazers of Jersy Marine Swansea we have found them far better to deal with than Blazers. They are agents for Bailey and Avondale. Hope you find what you require and happy hunting. If you contact Ian mention my name - apart from being a satisfied customer we have no dealings with the company at all.

Anthony - looking at the misunderstanding between yourself and Emmerson there are a few contributors to this forum who have been around and posting for quite a few years and we have a "wicked" sense of humour. Apart from Emmerson there is Lord B., Plotter and myself to name a few. It is never our intention to cause harm or dismay to our fellow contributors but on times our sense of humour does go astray. Therefore please do be not be offended by the humour - we generally know when to use it and when not to.

Not offended just slightly taken aback anyway just to let you all know i went to the show today (sunday) and to a certain extent emmerson was correct, no queues today but a very poor selection on offer no bargains and salesmen who seemed not to want to deal, very few accessory stalls congratulations to Blazers for attending and considering Discover is the largest dealer in wales it was very disappointing they did not attend ALSO I WOULD `NT CALL IT A FUN FAIR WITH JUST 2 RIDES FOR THE KIDS i found no offers to purchase different to the ones you would have if you went to the dealership, won`t go next year
