Rankings in any sport mean nothing. Im pretty sure the vast majority of fans would sooner their team actually win something in a major competition (or get to the final for that matter) than be ranked number one.

Im a far bigger football fan than rugby - I dont have a clue as to what Englands football world ranking is. I do know that we werent good enough to qualify for the European Cup finals no matter what the world rankings say.

Current Rugby world champs are South Africa and I think Italy are football world champions and they will be the world champions up until they win again after four years or until the cups are handed to someone else. ie England were football World Champions from 66 to 70.

Both competitions have third place play offs, the headlines read that Argentina destroyed France for 3rd place, England being second. The competition did not end with RSA champs and all others equal. Likewise Italy are still football world champions two years on with France second and Germany placed 3rd after the 3rd place play of leaving Portugal 4th.

I can't see what is difficult about that ;

Personally I don't give a monkey's where who comes on it but the fact of the matter is Sadie is right and "a" is wrong. Read it for yourself "a", it's there as clear as anything on the I.R.B. website.

That is unless you are a higher authority than the I.R.B. and know different :O)

Sadie gave you the URL ... http://www.irb.com/index.html but you either didn't check it out or found out you were wrong so didn't mention it in your next post ... heh! heh! you crafty "a".

The ball is (rugby of course) in your half "a".
