Hi has anybody used any products like wet and forget on the bodywork part of their caravan roof? as I use it round my house and conservatory roof its stops green algae forming etc , looking at the formula and being from a vehicle paint shop background there is nothing in the product that can harm the caravan finish just wondered if anyone has tried it or similar? Ps my caravan is stored in an area of very little autumn and winter sun

It’s been discussed on the Forum. If you search using “ wet and forget” you will get a number of posts discussing it. Can’t remember the outcome. For me I always used Fenwicks Overwintering fluid in the late autumn and removed it in spring. Whilst it made the van look grubby it came up pristine when first washed in the spring.

I have not used it myself but have read from folks on FB caravan groups that they have used it with no ill effects. If it was me I would test an inconspicuous patch first before dousing the van and I would be extremely careful about keeping it off the windows. Lord knows what they are made of but they are clearly sensitive to practically everything 😃

Been using Wet n forget for years with no ill effects. I have been disappointed with the fenwicks overwintering stuff as it just seemed greasy but then I personally have never been too impressed with anything from Fenwicks (just me) and I have tried them all.
I like the way it stops mould forming around window seals and roof vents. I was recomended Wet n forget by a mate who uses it on his garage forecourt and around his car wash
I might add though that I live in a place that is badly affected by the green stuff because of surrounding trees so I need something effective

Fenwicks has to be slightly sticky as it is a waxy substance to capture muck, and seal the surface and its joints and seals. The van certainly won’t look pristine over winter whilst it’s on, but that never bothered me.
