I have just purchased a whale aquasource to use on my 2005 Bailey Senator, after reading the instructions they basically just say plug it in and off you go, is it really this simple or am i missing something????????

we have one paul and it does what it says on the packet. But I am a bit worried that whatever mechanism is used to reduce the pressure may fail and expose the van to mains pressure so we rarely use it. probably just me worrying too much as I have never heard of one failing.

Oh go on then Paul, perhaps I can afford a few more key strokes.

I bought one last spring for my 2007 series 5 Senator Louisiana. Plugged into the Van, screwed onto the tap and bingo, home from home mains water.

Easy to forget to empty the Waste container though.

I could run the water with the pump switched off although I think the pressure was marginally down, this was great as the pump is under the bed my daughter uses, so no noise 6 inches from her ear when I wash my hands after a visit at 3am.

I found that as my van is very long and the inlet is at the front I struggle with the length of pipe. Considering the price, the length of pipe is a bit mean I reckon. I'll probably have to extend it but not with the aquasource extension at the price they charge.

I also separately purchased a Y tap adapter which allows me to hook up to a shared tap. This has a tap on each leg of the Y, thus mine is always on and the caravan next to me can also draw water from the same tap.

I've an inkling that the aquasource may become a white elephant as out of the 5 sites we visited last year we could only use it at one. Admittedly we did use the one site 3 or 4 times.

Hello, thank you all for your replies i'll see what happens when i try to use it next weekend, but now i have another question, now on my senator louisiana series 5 when i bought it 3 months ago the water pump wasn't wired up at all and i've just connected the wires back up the way i think they should go, i've checed them with a multimeter but on the pump theres 2 wires together 1 live and the other neutral, but then there's a third wire on it's own which whether connected or not the pump still runs, can anyone give me a clue.

thank you

Paul

Although I have a Series 5 Louisiana It's in storeage so I can't look at anything.

Do you have the documentation which came with the van including a wiring diagram? (not that I'd understand it)

You may be better off raising a new topic under Technical with a specific title as there seems to be an army of knowledgeable and qualified people willing to advise.

It may be usefull if you find the make and model of the pump.

Strange though that the pump wasn't wired.
