Whale on board water pump in Bailey

Took delivery of New Series 6 Burgendy over the week end and no problems to report except with all the taps shut and not draining the system I went under the O/S front bunk ready to drain the system and found that the pump was running! Some what confused as checked the trouble shooting guide in the Bailey Manual which I find excellent and it suggested taps open, leaking from outside connection etc but I could not trace the problem.

I ended up switching the pump off at the main switch and then drained the system.

Any advice from Bailey owners with the whale on board pump system would be very helpful.

Thanks Rob

More than likely a error on my side.

Rob, admit to not being familiar to the system on the Pageant, but the Senator has a winter setting activated by the levers when set to this the pump runs constantly while switched on to drain the system. Was your pump set to the winter setting?

On the Bailey its a pressure system that has one pressure switch in the line/pump

If there is no water in the system )or its not full)and the pump switch is on then the pump will run because the lack of water produces no back pressure to activate the pressure switch

That is one reason for the pump master switch being provided.

If it was running with water in the system then the pressure switch could need adjustment as shown in the Bailey manual or it may be faulty

Hope that helps
