Whale tap spindle problem.

Hi all.
I managed to snap the spindle on my cold elegance tap.Iv got a replacement, how do i get the broken piece out of the knob.I gather the new one just clicks in.But whats the best way of getting the old one out.Iv tried prising it from both sides, but fear splitting the knob

Many thanks.

Get a small (and I mean SMALL) flat bladed screwdriver, or a strong needle, heat it up to red hot and push into the middle of the broken spindle.
Allow to cool,,,pull the spindle out !!!

.......or drill hole to take a suitable size phillips screw......screw in screw ....extract with pliers.

Why would you want to faff about finding a drill, a small drill bit, and a small screw, and a pair of pliers, drilling the hole, putting the screw in (and possibly expanding the spindle to lock it even tighter) and pulling the bit out when with one simple item heated with a lighter or gas ring and melted into the spindle does the job in seconds.

I have been doing this for a long time, and know which is best, time wise and cost to customer wise.

.........steady on!

The very same problem happened to the Whale tap in my caravan and I just described how I fixed it in a few minutes.
If your solution works in seconds then obviously you are the expert.
