What do I need for a premium pitch?

Being new to caravanning, I've just booked a 'Premium pitch' (at Skelwith fold) for the first time. I anticipate that I will need some additional equipment that I haven't got.

Waste pipe: How long? What size? Do I buy varying lengths and carry them all?

Water supply: I assume I can buy a device that connects to the site tap and then to the caravan water inlet? Does it come with a filter to replace the submersible one I have now.

I have a Bailey Pageant S6 2008.

Any help appreciated

Regards

Ian

Ian,

Re waste pipe and how much you will require? how long is a pice of string type of answer I'm afraid.

I've been on serviced pitches where one metre is long enough but on others where it has been closer to six. I use a combination of the flexible waste pipe available from caravan accessory shops and rigid domestic pipes and connections from the likes of B&Q, fairly sure it is 32mm push fit pipe & connections. I cut the lengths of pipe into unequal halfs and carry them in the front locker along with a variety of straight and right angle bend connectors.

Re fresh water supply. Two ways of doing it. Either special connection that goes direct from pitch tap to the caravan connection. I understand this type of connection has a valve incorporated to reduced/limit water pressure to the caravan. Other way, and what I use, is the connection from the tap to the side filler of my water container. This does not need the reducing valve. Dpends on what fresh water container you have whether you will have a side filler or not e.g the small aquaroll does not but the large size does.

Hope this helps

Hi,

I'm the same as Rob-T. Larger size aquaroll, water connection into the side(ballcock supplied with the kit), submersible pump goes through the top hole in the aquaroll.

But remember its not mandatory to have a clever ballcock arrangement. Just having a simple hosepipe permanently connected to the tap and in the aquaroll saves 90% of the work involved. A quick turn on the tap when you pass by is not an onerous task.

Ian,

Before you buy your waste pipes from B&Q please double check the size I mentioned. I'm fairly sure it was 32mm but it has been a few years since I bought them...... memory inclined to play tricks. The corrugated flexible waste pipe normally used with caravans fits neatly into the connection pieces, if you can take a small piece of that with you.

We take a cheap hosepipe from wilkinsons and fill the aquaroll as and when required. It takes very little effort when everything is left connected and costs under
