What do you clean your carpets with?

Hi all, i am tempted to clean my van carpets with my Vax carpet shampooer, i am just a little concerned about the water that will be left behind.

The vax does suck most of the water back up but will no doubt leave things a little damp to the touch.

Whats the opinions here? would you do it? am i going to do any damage to the timber underneath?

I've used a carpet shampooer similar to a vax several times in different caravans without problem. Don't overwet the carpet, if possible do it on a dry warm day so that you can leave door or window open. Alternatively put the heating on in the van for a few hours.

Mike I did this years ago with a polti stem cleaner and it worked a treat.

As Rob said open the heki and any other window, park it in the sun and put the heating on with blowers on full.

I use a spray on foam cleaner which i use all over & rub well into any marks, then I wipe off with solution of washing up liquid & warm water rubbing in well after foam is off with a sponge.
