Out of interest, do manafacturers allow for the weight of the battery and gas bottle(s) when they plate a van? I understand a mover has to be factpred in, but as it would be impossible to use a caravan without such items, are they included? Having weighed everything that goes in my van, I am beginning to wonder if I have less payload than I thought.

Gas bottles and EHU lead are included in the MIRO, as is water in any on-board tank, but the leisure battery is not. That may sound odd, but the same definition applies to motor homes where it possibly makes more sense.
It would be worth weighing the caravan anyway because one can never rely on the accuracy of any MIRO figure unless it is stated specifically for your particular 'van. Otherwise, it will be nothing better than a rough guide.
